When the next scheduled oil change interval has been sounded, the “Oil Change Required” message will flash for approximately ten seconds in the EVIC display. As the indicator system is duty cycle-based, the oil change interval time may fluctuate depending on your driving style.

How to reset the engine oil Change light on the Jeep?

The oil change required indicator will illuminate until you turn it off. Here is a step by step to reset the light:

For all modes:

Step 1: First, turn off your vehicle. Then, insert the key into the ignition and turn it on in the “ON/Run” mode position without starting the engine.

Step 2: Depress the accelerator pedal three times in a row within ten seconds.

Step 3: Again, turn off the ignition switch to lock position and back to the ON position to check whether it reset or not. 

If it does not take reset, try the above steps again 2 to 3 times.

For instrument cluster display:

Step 1: Turn off the engine. Then, without starting the engine, turn On the ignition switch.

Step 2:  To change the selection to “Vehicle Info,” use the arrows on the steering wheel.

Step 3:  Find the “Oil Life” option and select it.

Step 4: Then, press and hold the OK button until it resets.

How long can jeeps go without an oil change?

It is not recommended to drive more than 12 months or 10,000 miles. So, you can drive your car without an oil change up to 10,000 miles. More than that, you will lead to a costly engine repair.

How often do jeeps need oil changes?

There are not any thumbs of rules about oil changes. Also, it will vary according to the model of the Jeep. However, if you maintain the normal routine, you should change the oil after around 7500 to 10000 miles.
